CQC Inspection Manager (Portsmouth)

Simon has been an Inspection Manager for CQC for 4 years and has been in post managing the adult social care inspection team in Portsmouth since July 2017. Previously, he managed an adult social care team in West London. Simon has now worked for CQC for 6 years, having previously been a Bank Inspector, working mainly in North-West London.

Simon’s career in adult social care began in 1991 when he supported people with a learning disability to leave long-stay hospitals in Berkshire and Hertfordshire. He is a registered Occupational Therapist and has additional training in applied psychology of learning disability, having studied at the Tizard Centre at the University of Kent, and in the management of behaviours which some people may perceive as challenging.

Prior to joining CQC Simon worked at Director level for several learning disability charities close to his home in Oxfordshire and latterly with a learning disability charity based in London.
